Organic Coconut Puree, IQF, Powder and Dried Product Journey

Planting

Young coconuts flourish along the Atlantic coast of Nicaragua. Our farmers use 100% organic and regenerative methods, capturing carbon to benefit the planet. They also employ cover crops to naturally enrich the soil.

We partner directly with over 250 small Nicaraguan farmers to grow and harvest our young coconuts. Through workshops and individual support, we empower farmers to care for their land and improve their harvests while meeting sustainability standards.

We offer fair prices, long-term contracts, and local collection points, making it easier for farmers to sell their young coconuts. This boosts their income and well-being, offering a way to overcome poverty.

Sol Organica is dedicated to regenerative organic agriculture, which goes beyond standard organic practices to restore the environment and support communities. We know our farmers personally and can trace every young coconut back to its origin.

Harvesting

Coconut trees have varying fruit-bearing times based on their type. Dwarf varieties, such as the Brazilian Green Dwarf, typically begin producing coconuts within 3 to 4 years of planting. Tall varieties take longer, usually between 6 to 10 years.

After flowering, coconuts can be harvested for water in approximately 6 to 7 months. This is when coconuts are harvested for our young coconut puree. For coconut meat, an additional 5 to 6 months of maturation is needed, resulting in a total of 10 to 13 months from flower emergence to harvest.

Collection Centers

At our local centers, farmers and Sol Organica staff inspect and weigh each harvest. Farmers receive immediate payment details and updates on any quality-based bonuses. Records are kept and sent with the young coconuts to our processing facility.

Our collection team gathers the young coconuts from various centers in Nicaragua. They visually check the coconuts to ensure they meet our quality requirements.

The selected young coconuts are then transported on Sol Organica's trucks to our processing plant in San Marcos, Carazo, Nicaragua.

Receiving & Processing

At our facility, we verify the quantity, type (organic, regenerative organic), and the farmer's information for each delivery. Our quality control team inspects samples to maintain our premium standards.

The young coconuts are then processed to create our range of organic young coconut products, such as young coconut puree. Our products are 100% natural, with no added sugar, preservatives, or sulfates. We adhere to strict hygiene and food safety standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices and our FSSC 22000 certificatio
